Raw-gas Monitoring for Scrubber Optimizing

The consumption of scrubbing material in a scrubber is related to the mass flow of acid gases. Hydrogen chloride (HCl) and sulphur dioxide (SO2) are the major acid gases in an incinerator. By measuring the mass flow of SO2 and HCl in the raw gas going into the scrubber, it is possible to calculate the required quantity of scrubbing material.
The measurements of HCl and SO2 going into the scrubber is a technical challenge. The measurements need to be fast and reliable. The measurements need to be done in the raw gas before the scrubber at high dust load, high temperature and corrosive environment. The OPSIS cross-stack system has been tested and approved for the best performance and longest calibration intervals, and is proven to meet the demands for this application.

HCl and SO2 is measured either by TDL and/or UV DOAS analysers. The measurements are done with mg resolution and response time of a few seconds.
