OPSIS AB is a globally active company that develops, manufactures and sells innovative systems for air quality monitoring and industrial gas analysis. We provide our customers with reliable and cost-effective measurement systems and services for a wide range of applications.
ACTIVITY
OPSIS AB is engaged in the development, manufacture, marketing, sales, and service of monitoring equipment and software for monitoring air pollution in ambient air and for monitoring process and emissions gases in the industrial sector. OPSIS also markets and sells services related to such activities. Further, OPSIS develops, manufactures, markets, sells, and services analytical instruments for laboratories in the food and other industries under the LiquidLINE and Liquid Monitoring brands.
OPSIS operates worldwide. We work directly with environmental authorities, industries, and other users of the instruments in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. For sales and maintenance in the rest of the world, we have a network of our own companies, distributors, and other representatives who are among the most competent and experienced in the industry in each country.
ORGANISATION AND FINANCIAL STATUS
The OPSIS group has approximately a hundred employees, most of whom work at the head office in Furulund, Sweden. We have subsidiaries in Germany (OPSIS GmbH) and the U.S.A. (OPSIS, Inc.) as well as local offices for maintenance and other services in Oslo, Stockholm, and Norrköping, among others.
OPSIS is owned by OPSIS Holding AB, which in turn is privately owned by the founders of OPSIS. The group has a good and stable economy with the highest credit rating according to independent assessment systems.

We have chosen to implement a management system that meets the requirements of EN ISO 9001, EN ISO 14001, EN ISO/IEC 17025, EN ISO/IEC 27001, and EN ISO 45001. We have also chosen to have external parties audit our management system to show our customers in a simple way that we are working seriously on these issues. We are also Achilles certified. In addition, we have a large number of products that are tested and certified to meet relevant standards and regulatory requirements. OPSIS takes active part in the development of product standards.

HISTORY
In October 1985, OPSIS was founded as a privately owned company. At that time, the founders, who were also PhD students at the Department of Atomic Physics at the Faculty of Physics at Lund University, Sweden, had come across an idea to use spectroscopy as a tool to measure gaseous pollutants in ambient air.
The company's first premises were established in the Ideon Science Park next to the Lund University campus and the design of the very first measuring instrument was completed. The company was right in time and expanded. Read more about the early years in one of our blog posts Once Upon a Time.
By 1991, OPSIS had outgrown its premises at Ideon and moved to Furulund, where the head office is still located today. There, the expansion has slowly but surely continued over the years with new types of products, new distributor partnerships, more staff, and new buildings, all to handle an increasing demand for the company's products and services. In addition to the employees of OPSIS, the company also engages a number of external specialists and subcontractors, mainly in the mechanics and electronics fields and mainly in the local area.
Since the start in 1985, the company has delivered several thousands of monitoring systems. OPSIS instruments can be found on all continents except Antarctica. Actively used instruments can be found in at least some fifty countries.
