Calibrating a gas involves comparing a known gas concentration with the reading an instrument produces when exposed to that gas. Based on this comparison, the instrument’s zero level and amplification are adjusted to ensure accurate measurements.
In many monitoring applications, regulations specify when and how such calibrations must be carried out, though accuracy is equally critical in process control settings.
OPSIS operates a well-equipped laboratory capable of calibrating instruments for all gases their systems can detect. All calibration gases and reference materials are traceable to national and international standards, and the laboratory is accredited in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
The OPSIS system for continuous emissions monitoring was the first system to be certified for annual calibration. Tests resulted in an extension of the calibration interval to one year.
